I too have a passion for horses. I have started a non profit and became exempt in 2007. I would be glad to offer some advice. I did not use an attorney to become a non profit. You are capable of doing that on your own and saving that expense. We have just had our first rodeo in our arena. We are located in Tennessee. Look up the West Tennessee Expo Center some time. It 's not much now but we have great hopes. Our plan is to complete the project by adding an indoor riding arena too. Hope this helps.

Update for my friends on Aidpage

By Mimzy - on Aug 5, 2011
Posted in Starrweaver

Just wanted to let my friends on here know that I've been out of circulation for a while. I don't know if I will be back yet as my back & hips don't allow me to move much.
I've arthritis in my hips, hands and shoulders. I've an old lower lumbar back injury that is aggravated by the inflammation & pain in my hips.

I'm like a little wooden soldier someone left in the rain...I'm all stiff and waterlogged...lol

I hope that my friends are doing alright considering their individual situations. I wish them the best and will hopefully improve myself in the following weeks - depending upon what tortures my doctor decides to prescribe...

Take care and stay safe...
Carpe Diem! You never know if you'll be able to tomorrow...

Star also wanted me to tell ALL OF YOU that ...she has dearly missed you all and sends her love, too! May some prayers, also, go out for her in this time of need.

lets hope you take a course in the way to speak about people, I'm disabled and I have never in my life gone Hand in cap to beg, get it Handicapped, it means to go hand in cap, or when horse racing to add extra weight to a winning horse to handicap them.

People are not handicapped they are disabled.

Okay traci, let's stay positive as I know you had a lump and then they found another. I had a lump but it was from having dense breast. And my GYON wanted me into a center the next day. He was really worried and I had to wait a few days and calm myself down as I was really scared and crying.  You have till Jan.10th and I am glad it will be done for free. It is a good thing to have all the procedures done at once. Then they cover all the basis. I know you are scared and I was too. I know it is hard but try to find something you enjoy doing in the meantime and do it. Whether you rent movies for free from the library or can go to a book store with the weather back there being bad see what there is to bring joy into your life. Write a gratitude journal. Write down 5 things you are grateful for each day and more if you can think of. Ekikaseven is praying for you as well as others here. You are welcome and come back here to get to know others here too.

Love to you and hugs

Hello traci7777
I have been thinking of you today wondering how everything went. I am very happy they are doing all of these treatments on the same day as that is the only way to get it done rather come back for mammogram results to get the ultra sound. This way you will know where you stand that day..
I will be thinking of you that all goes well and you will be cancer free.

Update - June 21, 2010

By Kedi - on Jun 21, 2010
Posted in Kedi

It has been a very long and scary 20 months.  I landed a full-time "j-o-b", which lasted all of 6 months.  It was enough though to qualify me for unemployment benefits and extend my COBRA coverage.  Talk about life style changes!!

Then a month ago yesterday, I received a call from a head-hunter for a temporary agency who had seen my resume on Monster.com.  I am now working in a temporary position, for less money than I was making in 1996! and no benefits!  I am still collecting a little bit from unemployment every two weeks.  That should give you a good idea as to how pathetic my hourly rate is.  I have my COBRA benefits for a bit longer.  I'm praying a full-time position at a better pay rate with at least healthcare coverage will come out of this.

Not out of the woods yet, but I hope that's daylight I see and not a mirage.

 in response to CATLUV...

CAT, my lady, thank you so very much from the depth of my spirit! When I first came here I was not quite sure about staying. I nosed around abit and seen just was not sure.  I realized while its hard to ask others for help I could utilize this blog to just be me. I do have abit of trouble asking for help but as I moved along I realized something new...... just knowing I was not alone, that others too needed to be heard too, became very healing to me. All my life I have been a caregiver, and it seems that letting others know that I was in need too opened a new door in my life. That may seem funny to some, but I know those here at aidpage with us can relate. I have always known I could just be me, but many places we go in life we seem to be made to hide abit of who we are. Here at aidpage, I don't have to hide a thing. The things that trouble my soul the most...if I want to share them I can share them. And then I can see others that share their life and that opens me up to share more intimately some of the details of my life. I know it comes in bits and peaces for me. But I cant rush a good thing heheh healing takes time. And I can only hope that sharing my struggles, my faith, my depression or happiness, or whatever it is I am drawn to share...I can only hope it touches someone else. Just as so many of you have touched me.

My Lady, you were one of the very first who truly saw me and you shared that with me. Whether you knew this or not....I needed that. With one touch, your soul reaching out to mine... I began to heal.  Because you reached out to me it gave me the courage to start sharing more of "me" with others on my blog here and to even start reaching out to others with sharing my thoughts or prayers for them on post back comments in their blog.

This is a beginning for me. And I am very honored and blessed to have you in my life. And I would be most honored to stay here with the aidpage family. I may have to be gone for a time due to uncertainty of internet where I am going. And it is out in the country by about 25 miles. But don't you worry...I definitely will be back!!!!!!!! this is like a home to me, a gathering place of like souls. Well, I just cant leave family!

Many blessings my lady, my friend!

Thank you so much!!! Oh I cant wait to get there lol heheheheh I'm so so so excited. Well I may not be able to get online for abit..I'm not quite sure on that yet. But the important thing is that thru everthing I just kept faith and as wall as continual prayers I am very glad those here prayed and had good thoughts on this working out for me.

I know some people may not have understood my aidpage and why it wasnt full of just advertisements. But those of you that enjoyed my pages here I appreciate it. Creating is my peace and joy in life. And every once in awhile I get to share abit more about myself with others here. And I have enjoyed that tremendously! I am not a big one to ask for someone to meet my needs...prayers and thoughts go such a long way.

I came here looking I think more to be able to voice my needs and not feel alone. Everyone has things in life and life is getting pretty hard on everyone. I am glad I came to Aidpage to check it out and even more so that I decided to joiin. I consider you all another part of my family!

I will stay on here! I love it! and love you all! yeah yeah I said love. There are many depths of love, I know, and to some is a strong word LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE hahahah hehehehe but thats just who I am!

thank you sheshe .... you bet i'll be staying on!

cant up and leave my family just because something good has happened now can I? lol... nah now I'll just have more to talk about hehehehhe.

Hello,

Yay! I am so happy to hear of your good fortune. "Ask and you shall receive," huh!?! One of my favorite sayings ... along with "this too shall pass" ... which comes in handy when the whole ask and you shall receive thing doesn't happen so fast, LOL.

Well, I have to concur with the other comments about your page design ... I love it! And, of course, you know that one of the main reasons is due to the paw prints! In my pen and ink drawings, I frequently have paw prints around somewhere, usually as a partial frame. I know that from talking with you, that you my dear, are a very creative person, and I feel a slight twinge of page design competition coming on, haha, lol! I am surprised that the majority of folks on Aidpage do not utilize the design possibilities available, as I have found that piece of blogging nearly as fun, and personally fulfilling, as the writing aspect.

Well, again, I am so pleased to hear such wonderful, positive news! You certainly deserve great things in this life, and you are on your way, literally! Although you have only been a member of this site for a short time, you have already touched many people - including myself - and I have no doubt that you will do much more, affecting and improving countless others' lives.

I am proud and blessed to count you as a friend, and certainly hope that you will stay with us for a long time to come, ... and tell us about your journey as it unfolds. Be safe, and take good care of yourself! Always listen to your "gut intuition."

Blessings & "Cat luvs," Brenna ~ "CATLUV"

Update.... July 30th 2009

By Lady O'Dwyer - on Jul 30, 2009
Posted in Lady O'Dwyer

As of now I have not found means to get to Arizona. Sadly,  I am sure the lady will have to hire someone else to care for her mother. However I have continued in my faith that I would not be left in the streets to try and care for myself alone and unsafe. I have contacted my cousins ex-wife whom I have always remained friends with. When I explained what was going on...she instantly said "Come stay with me....I have a huge house...I could use some help its too big for me to clean...you are always welcome here with me...." Although she could not financially afford to help me make the trip (and I didnt ask her for help either way), she opened her home to me.

I may not be on here much for the next couple of months. I am not sure if she has internet. But rest assured I will check back in briefly from time to time when I visit the local library! I still plan on making the trip to Arizona. My love and I are engaged to be married. None of that has changed. I can only go the route God lays before me and know with uncertainty that my love and I will be just fine.

God Bless and see you soon

I have never heard of any company NOT accepting HEAP in NYS!

You are protected under the law  - contact them at the link below:

"The New York State Home Energy Fair Practices Act (HEFPA) protects residential electric and natural gas utility customers from shutoffs and provides special protections for when a customer’s health and safety may be threatened by lack of service. Under HEFPA, special “cold weather” protections help consumers keep their service on during the cold weather period between November 1 and April 15."

I was doing good and putting money away each week out of the child support, to pay for my drivers license. now my Land lord pulled a fast one and told me that i needed to stay with his gas company. It cost him $600.00 every time they come and take the tanks. Here in NY we have a program called heap. i was accepted for it but the company that i had to stay with does not except Heap. Now I have to come up with the fill and a 49.95 gas check as we do not have gas or hot water, I am making arrangements for us to go places to take showers and all. We cook on electric fry pans and in the microwave. My landlord found out as the electric is included in my rent , got to love neighbors whom inform. But what am I to do as I need to keep us warm until !  as i will have Definitely no money to buy Deanna gifts. which now breaks my heart but I need to pay the bills as much as I can to keep us safe and warm, through the winter months. Thanks again.

Helping The Handicapped Through Horseback Riding

By mike2786 - on Oct 12, 2007... modified on Oct 24, 2007
Posted in Non-profit Organizations

To All That Read This,

My name is Michael and I wish to start a non-profit organzation that would enrich the lives of those physically handicapped. However since I have never done this before, I truly don't know where to start. In fact I have never "posted" anything in my life.

The premise behind my non-profit organzation would be horse riding. The benefits of horse riding are both psychological and physiological. The program I wish to develop would build confidence and self esteem. It would help in developing coordination and balance; affords freedom of mobility not usually available to the handicapped. It would offer outdoor or indoor fun and a sense of accomplishment. It would further allow able-bodied and disabled people in the community to work together, as well it would allow riders to develop some sort of independence not readily available to them.

I realize this endeavor is a mighty one. My wife to be grew up around horses and has managed a horse ranch herself for a number of years in Maryland. We have contacted horse trainers in our area and realitors who have shown interest in this project. It's just getting the ball rolling. Who do we have to see, what exactly do we have to do, what forms are neccessary etc. This is where we are at a lost. I started here with this posting in hopes of being guided in the right direction. Any help in our endeavor/dream, is most welcomed and deeply appreciated.

We would be happy to answer any questions to those who are interested in helping us achieve this endeavor. Thank-you for reading this!

Sincerely,

Michael & Tracy

Email Address: unimpressednow@msn.com

UPDATE as of 10/24/07:

I have discovered the world of 501c3 and 1023 forms...and that incorporation is the way to proceed. And that to receive any monies through fund raising I first have to be a non-profit. I have already composed a "statement of purpose"...so my next step is to contact an attorney, an attorney that would consider doing it pro bona? Obviously this would be of immense help! However, I'm beginning to think that pro bona means "fat chance" in Latin. We will continue to persevere.

                                   Again, thank-you for reading!
